The HIV situation in Caraga, Mindanao is becoming increasingly alarming, with Butuan City leading the region with 442 reported cases.

Following closely behind, Surigao City has documented 229 cases, while Bislig and Tandag have reported 68 and 65 cases, respectively. Other cities like Bayugan and Cabadbaran are also affected, with 61 and 46 cases reported.

In terms of provincial data, Agusan del Sur is at the forefront with 293 cases, making it the most affected province in the region. Surigao del Sur has reported 225 cases, and Surigao del Norte has documented 136 cases. Additionally, Agusan del Norte and Dinagat Island Province have 122 and 31 cases respectively.

The escalating numbers highlight a crucial issue: the risk of not knowing. Many individuals might be unaware of their HIV status, leading to further transmission and complications. Early detection through testing is vital for effective treatment and management.
