A cab driver reportedly returned a luggage loaded with cash amounting to $1,700 (approximately P77,000) to an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW). A couple of high-end gadgets were also turned over including a laptop, and smartphone.

The taxi driver identified as Ricardo Villanueva, who routinely sleeps in his taxi during the night and goes home to Pampanga on weekends, picked up Richard Ramirez Pelino on Tuesday night at NAIA 1. He dropped off Pelino at a certain hotel and drove back to NAIA 3 to pick up another passenger. While he was approaching the airport, he discovered the black bag of Pelino left in the back seat of his taxi prompting him to immediately report the incident to the airport police.

The airport personnel and Villanueva headed to the hotel, where Pelino had checked in, and the two handed his belongings. Pelino thanked Villanueva and airport officials for returning his assets.
According to reports, Pelino returned to Manila to attend the wake of his father and the cash was for his father's burial expenses.
