According to Simpson:
“Metrosexual man, the single young man with a high disposable income, living or working in the city (because that’s where all the best shops are), is perhaps the most promising consumer market of the decade. In the Eighties he was only to be found inside fashion magazines such as GQ, in television advertisements for Levi’s jeans or in gay bars. In the Nineties, he’s everywhere and he’s going shopping.”
The idea behind metrosexual is that a gentleman can be concerned about fashion, be concerned about his appearance without being gay, and he still receives the acceptance of every people.
Others believe that being metrosexual does not necessarily require a chap to be wealthy, heavy shopper, or a very classy one. They said it's about looking fine. Many people who are metrosexuals are unconsciously displaying the narcissistic side in them. Although Simpson squabbled about these claims, he said that a metrosexual male likely falls into one of two categories of narcissism:
He’s in love with himself, or he loves the idea of what he might become, which isn't really a bad thing if you'd ask me.
Metrosexual people are some well–groomed populace. They deliberately care about their hair, face, chest, thigh, etc. They are aware that a harmonized outfit is better than a matching one, they understand that certain shoes are better-suited for certain events, and they also know that certain conduct is better-suited for certain occasions.

Real men don’t mind walking in the sludge, and get grimy. Men don’t care if their socks don’t match their pants, or if their striped tie clashes against their checkered shirt. Men don’t need wax for their hair, they only need wax for their cars.
We are in an era where the uprising metrosexuality is rampant. Dress the way you want, be as expressive as you want, as neat as you would like to, and don’t even bother what others would say about you. I applaud every metrosexual men out there. Me too have a diminutive metrosexual mentality and it doesn't affect my every day life. In fact, it helps me to stand out at some point, which I know every fellow metros will understand.
