According to Letran’s Athletic Director Vic Calvo O.P., on his Twitter account, Franz Dysam and Joan Sordan were attacked along the corner of N. Domingo and Araneta Avenue after the Knights’ game against Lyceum, which they won, 61-53, at the San Juan Arena. Calvo said Dysam and his wife were rushed to the San Juan Medical Center. Dysam was conscious and asked him to call his parents while Sordan succumbed to death because of some fatal shots she sustained during the assault.
In a separate interview, Dysam asked Calvo to have him transferred to the University of Sto. Tomas Hospital in Manila where he will undergo a second operation because one more bullet is still stuck in his body.
Dysam and Sordan were reportedly married but San Juan Police Chief Col. Bernard Tambaoan said they have yet to establish the couple’s relationship. A preliminary report revealed that the former lover of Dysam’s partner is an ex-cop, who could be the prime suspect behind the shooting. Police are checking some footage from closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras positioned near the shooting incident.
“Baka sakaling makuha natin ‘yung plate number ng mga salarin,” said Tambaoan.
San Juan police said the shooting took place at around 7:45 p.m. They recovered five empty shells in the crime scene.
Meanwhile, members of the Letran squad earlier expressed concern over their teammate’s condition. -PHnews.Net
