Filipino football fans are celebrating the unthinkable achievement of the highly motivated Filipinas. It was not an easy journey for the Filipina football players. The team had to demonstrate their game plan against tough opponents like Vietnam as they made their journey to the Championship game.

They hammered 3-0 over Thailand, a shocking tournament loss of the Thai football players who received multiple yellow cards when the later team became hostile in the match.

Eva Madarang was the first target and got pushed by Ploychompoo Somnuek. Few minutes later, Phonphirun Philawan pushed Bolden midair.

The impressive performance of the Filipinas indeed was not a walk in the park. However, the strong determination and massive efforts of Jessika Cowart and Katrina Guillou led to an early two goals in the first half of the match.

As the Filipina continued to crack the defense strategy of Thailand opponent, Sarina Bolden drilled the last score from a corner kick. The national team sustained their aggressive gameplay until the end of championship match.

Leni Robredo in her Twitter account was among the first to congratulate the women and cited that the title is making the Filipinos proud.
