Customer Eats Live Worm from a Cheeseburger Bought in Bajada McDonalds -Davao City
A certain McDonald's customer allegedly ate a live worm from a cheeseburger that was bought in the fast food chain located in Bajada, Davao City. The photo of the partially consumed burger is currently making rounds on the internet.
A netizen identified as Nikki Vea posted a photo of the burger that was purchased from McDonald with a caption, "Mao ni ang tinuod na picture na burger from MCDONALDS BAJADA na naay WORM. oheeem. SPOT THE WORM! — feeling luod to the max!" (Tranlastion: This is the real photo of the burger from McDonald's Bajada which contained a live worm. Spot the worm! -- This is very disgusting!) Nikki claimed that her officemate accidentally ate a live worm from the cheeseburger.
The uploaded picture draws mixed reactions from netizens mostly from Bajada, Davao city. A commenter named Kate Blones said;
"might be ang kani sya na 10:1 meat( as they call it) didnt go under food safety. dapat magkaroon na ug food safety inspection diha like diri sa states tanan food chains and restaurants are obliged to have food safety certificates. and managers are also obliged to get their license to be a food safety manager so gikan sa crew all thru the managers all managers naay food safety licensw which conducts food safety in every 8hr shifts icheck nila ang meat and expirations tanan... so kani na meat i bet old meat na ni sya and under certain temperature and expired. makasuhan sila ani.."
Blones added, "they[McDonald] fast food chain can be sued for this ingna ang manager or ur friend to actually use this evidence and report it to the department of health and food bureau. madato sya hahah. but yeah seriously kung dinhi la na nasarado na ng store."
Meanwhile, an unverified statement circulating in social media cited a certain Susan Longuinsa who allegedly filed a complaint last November 14, 2014 at 2a.m. in San Pedro Police Station. Susan purportedly ate half of the burger bought from McDonald's Bajada branch when she suddenly noticed a live worm crawling out from the burger patty. It's not yet verified if the colleague of Nikki and the 33-year-old woman named Susan are the same person being referred in the viral news.
In a separate report, the City Health Office was allegedly informed about the issue and the Bureau of Food and Drugs will initiate a thorough investigation of the incident.
As of press time, DH.com decided to park and tag this news as a possible hoax due to lack of evidence.
