Bao-Bao Driver Points Gun at Tricycle Driver, Arrested in Tagum City

A bao-bao driver is now in custody at the Tagum City Police Station after threatening a tricycle driver with a pistol in front of a major mall in the city on the evening of December 18, 2024.

According to a report from the Tagum PNP, the suspect, identified as alias "Edwin," a 48-year-old resident of Sobrecarey St., Barangay Magugpo South, Tagum City, was apprehended following a complaint from alias "Eric," a resident of Purok Anahaw, Visayan Village, in the same city.

A video circulating on social media showed the two drivers waiting for passengers, which led to an argument. During the altercation, the suspect pulled out a gun and pointed it at the complainant.

It was reported that the suspect has already apologized to the victim, but the latter is determined to press charges. The authorities seized a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine and bullets from the suspect's possession.

Currently, the police are preparing to file appropriate charges against the suspect.
