COMELEC Partial Proclamation of Winners in Senate Race

In a report of ABS-CBN news, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) proclaimed on Thursday night Team PNoy senatorial candidate Grace Poe and 5 other topnotchers in the Senate race.
The other senators proclaimed are Team PNoy candidates Loren Legarda (Nationalist People’s Coalition), Alan Peter Cayetano (Nacionalista Party), Francis Escudero (independent) and Sonny Angara (Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino), and United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) candidate Nancy Binay.
Poe is the clear leader in the race, racking up 16,303,640 votes, according to the latest partial and unofficial tally of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting, which gets its results from the Comelec transparency server. The total number of precincts counted in the unofficial tally is now at 59,543 out of 78,166.
Nancy Binay, who recently thanked Vice Ganda, did not show up for the proclamation after UNA protested the partial proclamation.
UNA spokesman Toby Tiangco criticized the Comelec for proclaiming the 6 candidates with only 72 out of 304 certificates of canvass (COCs) totaling 13,384,981 voters or 22% of COCs canvassed. Tiangco said Comelec should proclaim all the winners.
"Why the hurry? 22% is not even half (of the COCs)," he said.
