Cheska Agas Died after Group Selfie Attempt at Ilocos Windmills

A girl named Cheska Agas was drowned after an attempt of having a group selfie in Barangay Masikil, Bangui, Ilocos Norte on October 12, 2014. The 19-year-old student was reportedly accompanied by six other students and friends when an unexpected incident occurred.

According to the initial investigation result, the friends of Cheska Agas invited her to have a group photo along the shoreline. The college student joined the group for a selfie and while they were posing in front of the windmills, a huge wave hit all of them.

The entire group were swept away from the shoreline. As multiple waves continued to reach the coastline, local fishermen immediately rushed to rescue the victims. However, Cheska Agas was already drowned and lifeless when they brought them to the cottage.

Following the death of the college student, the Barangay officials issued a warning to all tourists advising them not to get close to the beach to avoid accidents. Swimming in the area is also banned by the authorities.
