Tiger killed Four People in India

A number of "tiger attack" cases are being recorded every year. Although tigers are not man-eaters, some of them really harm and kill people. Generally speaking, tigers most of the time would stay away from people but they have the tendency to become violent if taken by surprise or if they are protecting their young. When tigers attack humans, they rarely eat them. Victims are left blooded, which isn't really something that they would be thankful either.

Recently, a tiger reportedly killed four people in a village located in the northern part of India. A famous news outlet said the most recent victim is a 40-year-old woman who works at a tea plantation in the state of Tamil Nadu. The tiger purportedly broke free from a tiger reserve zone.

“We have identified four bodies that were killed by the tiger as they bore teeth and claw marks,” Senior Mora­dabad said to Administrative official O.P. Narain Singh.

The residents of the said village were protesting because the tiger is still free and they are worrying about their own safety. The incident convinced Tamil Nadu’s local government to temporarily shut 45 schools in Nilgris district and a resort in Doddabetta Hill to avoid further assault by the wild animal.

Reports say the tiger that caused four casualties in India is still being searched by 150 forest officials and policemen with the help of two elephants in the district of Moradabad and if they seized it, they will return the tiger to Jim Corbett National Park.

There are only 1,700 tigers left in India from the previous record of 40,000 in 1947. Tigers are continuously decreasing because of poachers, smugglers, and the destruction of their natural habitat. (AFP)
