Dubai opened the year 2014 in a stunning and remarkable act when they dazzled the area with astonishing fireworks display. A report made by Gulf News said that Dubai sets a Guinness World Record for the largest fireworks display in a six-minute show which uses over 500,000 fireworks. In just 60 seconds, the New Year’s event in Dubai thrashed the previous 2012 record of 77,282 fireworks.
Guiness World Records were quick on its feet when they confirmed that Dubai successfully broke the world record for the biggest ever pyrotechnic display on New Year's Eve where more than half a million fireworks were exhibited.
According to Guiness website, "Ten months in planning, over 500,000 fireworks were used during the display which lasted around six minutes, with Guinness World Records adjudicators on hand to confirm that a new record had been set."
It also added that the display spanned 94 kilometers (58.4 miles) of the Dubai coast, which features an archipelago of man-made islands and Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower.
