Cartoon app Stole the Spotlight

The newest talk in the town - Bitstrips. This cartoon app, which has been downloaded more than 11 million times, is making some noise in most of the Facebook users.

What exactly is Bitstrips? Why did it become such a great hit?

"Bitstrips is your online funny pages," its official website said.

Bitstrips enables users to form characters that look like them and their friends, and put them in humorous or pragmatic situations. The app allows users to design an avatar, adjusting hairstyles, clothes and other physical elements of the cartoon to match their real-life facade. They have the option to select a brief caption or remark in a speech bubble to reveal how they’re feeling or what they’re doing. Bitstrips was originally launched in December.

According to Bitstrips CEO Jacob Blackstock: "It’s a new way to express yourself and interact with your friends. Instead of posting the same things as everyone else, you can create something that relates to your life."

Bitstrips underwent some revitalization with updates for iPhones and Android devices released last week. The new version of Bitstrips has more than 1,000 different cartoon templates to choose from.

This is a must-try app if you want to express yourself in a comical way. I have tried making my own character too and it was fun. I made different catchy lines, even turn myself into something that I can’t do in real life like surfing on top of a bus, flying on a carpet and hanging on a cliff. It gives me the excitement because I’m very interested to see how my friends will react on my comic strips. I am also eager to see their creations as well because I find it extremely entertaining.

If you haven’t tried Bitstrips, come and give it a shot! You’ll probably enjoy it the same way I do.
