Multi-talented singer & actor Jericho Rosales has decided to join the independent "indie" film makers. This an interesting shift of his career considering that he is one of the mainstream actors who has explored highly budgeted productions. Is this driven by sudden popularity of indie film community?
"Alagwa" (Breakaway), Jericho's first indie movie which is written and directed by Ian Loreños is inspired by a popular urban legend about a child's disappearance in Chinatown Manila. The film tackles the dark facets of the underground business of human trafficking in the Philippines. Jericho's plays as the father of Bugoy Cariño. Some major scenes were filmed in Hongkong and the rest will be filmed locally especially in Binondo area.
