American Idol contender Jessica Sanchez, gave an astonishing rendition of Jazmine Sullivan's "Stuttering" during the Top 7 American Idol season 11 elimination round prompting judge Randy Jackson to say that she "slayed the biggest fish of the night". But it was not good enough and it didn't catch the attention of the voters. Jessica Sanchez joined the bottom vote-getter of the night together with judges' favorite Joshua Ledet and Elise Testone. Unluckily the Fil-Mexican Jessica Sanchez was left after Seacrest announced that Joshua and Elise are safe. Audience booing, the other contestants are shocked and judges are yelling. Everybody thought she was safe.

While hopeful Jessica Sanchez started singing "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here", the common ritual in which the bottom singer has to perform for their possible veto, a sudden turn of events happened which we've never seen before. Less than a minute after the 16-year-old started singing, American Idol judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson rush to the stage. J.Lo seized the mike from Sanchez, declaring her redeemed. "Give me that mic! This is crazy! We're using the save. You ain't going home! Go sit down," Lopez told Sanchez as the 'Idol' crowd stood on their feet, cheering and applauding. An angry Jackson then grabs the mike and says, "This girl is one of the best singers in America -- are you kidding me?! Everyone, please vote for the best!" The most obvious reason the judges latch on to is that Jessica is so good.

Mentor Jimmy Iovine had just as gobsmacked a reaction. "I'm going to get a new flatscreen TV - mine's not working," he said.

Sanchez tells Seacrest she wasn't surprised, "I don't expect anything -- whatever happens happens, and I just want people to know that I've been working hard my entire life."

1. The talent show 'judges' breaks the tradition of having someone sing to earn it. They stepped in while Jessica was not even halfway through of her piece. Many american commentators on the web are bashing the idol judges and even Jessica. I know it wasn't Jessica's fault and because of this situation the pressure is even getting harder next week. Jessica has to find a way to prove and convince the general audience that she deserves the decision of the judges.

2. Will America vote someone whose root is Asian-Mexican? This is very big issue. I know that mexicans in the US outnumber the Filipinos. But will they combine and vote for Jessica? Will the combined numbers enough against all other american voters who most likely would vie for the american contenders? I have no doubt with the God-given talents of Jessica but winning the contest depends on how appealing you are to the voters.

3. Drama. Americans don't like too much of this. Jessica needs to be consistently confident and avoid too much tears. She has to present herself to the judges and audience as a competitor. She has to consistently show her greatest talents to win the hearts of the people. She has to get the attention of the American people because if ever she wins the competition, majority of the record buyer will be White.
