200 people injured as they welcome 2012

Health Assistant Secretary Enrique Tayag said that stray bullets wounded eight people and 197 were injured by illegally huge firecrackers despite a government scare campaign against reckless holiday revelries. Officials fear the number of injuries may still rise as many Filipinos still buy the items to welcome the New Year and bid goodbye to a year of natural disasters and economic uncertainties.
