Lyca Gairanod Wins TheVoicekidsPhilippines, Draws Mixed Reactions from Netizens
Manila, Philippines -- Sunday, July 27 the voice kid’s finalists, Darren Espanto, Darlene Vibares, Juan Carlos Labajo and Lyca Gairanod sang like professional performers for the three-round competition at Newport Performing Arts Theatre at Resorts World.
After completing the rounds, Cory Vidanes, executive and currently serves as Channel Head for ABS-CBN, announced the winner in a very boring manner. One blogger reacted and posted a comment on Facebook saying, “Yun ang gusto kong pag announce ng winner. Walang ka-suspense suspense ahahahaha!”
If you watched the Voice Kids Philippine championship round, you can immediately relate what has been mentioned.
According to some posts and tweets, Darren Espanto should have been declared winner. Frustrated fans also complained the percentage of public votes since it looks FAKE, “Luto”.
“Kala ko si Lyca yun pang 4th, yun pala siya na yun champion. Wala man lang ka-dating dating yun sinabi un pangalan niya. Kainis!” – Twitter.com
“Dapat si Darren nanalo, ang ganda kaya ng boses niya, lalo na kanina bigay todo talaga siya sa pagkanta ng you are my song with Martin.”
A certain netizen said, "Lyca's talent is far from the other contestants. She committed a lot of flat notes and has issues in enunciation, how come she became the champion?”
Some people said that the secret in winning a reality show is by being poor. The VoiceKidsPhilippines is suppose to search children who could be the next Philippine Superstar. However, it seems that it became the search for less fortunate children.
“Kaya lang naman nanalo si Lyca, kasi mahirap sila at ang Manalo sa The voice kids Philippines ang makakapag bago ng buhay nila” – twitter.
Now that Lyca Gairanod has won the contest, she doesn’t need to be a scavenger in Cavite, her native home town, or maybe ABS-CBN just wanted to help her out, knowing that she’s still young and can still improve a lot in due time.
I honestly don’t know if she’s the best to take home the title. I have my own bet but the intention of ABS-CBN to help people is a good attitude, so why would I complain?
Lyca Gairanod received a recording contract from MCA Universal, a P1-million cash prize, a house and lot from Camella Homes, a musical instrument package, and a home appliance package.[video:youtube:3hODIX1l98s]
