Taxi Driver Modus Operandi, Plate No. TXJ-792
In the following report, DH.com assumed that the victim of the taxi driver was a woman. The passenger precisely described the modus operandi and noted that the driver was about 28-30 years old. The alleged suspect was driving an old taxi with plate no. TXJ-792.
A 28-second video was allegedly uploaded by an unidentified taxi passenger, who took a taxi ride from Katipunan going to Tomas Morato at around 2:30p.m (unknown date). A few minutes after the victim rode the cab, she instantly noticed the taxi driver reaching a blue towel and had it placed in front of the air conditioner.
The victim immediately smelled something like an alcohol or a citrus mint inside the car. When she closely examined the taxi driver, the suspect was already wearing a face mask probably to protect himself against the fume inside the cab. Moments later, the victim started to feel dizzy and was almost out of her senses.
The victim recalled a post on Facebook regarding the modus operandi of taxi drivers in the metro, which prompted her to send an SMS to her sister. Her cellphone was almost out of battery but still she was able to record a video of the taxi driver. Knowing that she was already in danger, she texted the taxi's plate number, TXJ-792, to her relatives. She took the opportunity to get off the car in the vicinity of GMA, where a security guard provided some assistance to her. Later, her sister arrived and was thankful that she was already safe.
Here's the video.
Meanwhile, the victim reportedly filed a complaint at the QCPD station 10 but as of press time, no further update is available online.
Dear readers, please be vigilant whenever you take a taxi ride. To all women, DO NOT sleep while in the cab. Take care of yourselves, ALWAYS!
