CACAI: Rio Bianca Ramirez Crushed to Death in Tanay Field Trip
14-year-old victim Rio Bianca Ramirez a.k.a Cacai was declared dead on the spot when an unmanned service bus rolled downhill, bumped and then pinned her body against a parked truck.
The 2nd year high school student was crushed to death in a freak bus accident during her field trip in Tanay, Rizal, last Friday while she was taking photographs inside Camp Capinpin.
Raymundo Ramirez, father of Cacai, spoke to reporters briefly yesterday at the wake of his daughter in Rocka Subdivision. He said words cannot express the grief he was feeling especially when he saw the injuries sustained by Rio Bianca “Cacai” Ramirez.
Mr. Ramirez said he had always tagged along in his daughter’s field trips except this one.
Cacai was a consistent top 10 student at the Holy Spirit Academy of Malolos. “She would have been a doctor,” sobbed the father of Bianca.
Another student, Pamela Enriquez, was also sideswiped by the bus and still under observation at a hospital in Quezon City as of press time yesterday afternoon.
Meanwhile, probers said the bus suddenly moved from its parked position on the inclined road while its driver, Carlos Ruel Villanueva, 63, was pouring water into the radiator.
The bus has been impounded and Villanueva remains locked up at the Tanay Police Station detention cell.
Senior Police Officer 1 Miguel Catapusan of the Tanay Police said the relatives of the victims have not pressed charges against the bus driver.
