PARAC is Philippines First Local Car Brand
In November 2014, a certain website published an article citing a local auto manufacturer named Chariot Motors in Bacolod City who successfully received a certification from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The car company is allegedly the top jeepney builders who assembled 70% of the "medium-size passenger vehicles" in the province of Negros Occidental. In the report, two people were purportedly the brains of the said project. They are Engineers Julio Paredes and Mario Racide.
Building the First "PARAC" Prototype
About two years ago, the two genius engineers built the first ever prototype which they called "PARAC", "a 2-door sedan with diesel engine". The name of the car was reportedly taken from their last names "Paredes-Racide". The prototype was initially presented to the scientists and inventors at Department of Science and Technology (DOST) but the agency declined the proposal prompting the inventors to bring it to Columbus, Indiana, USA. Fortunately, a certain unidentified investor helped in securing the patent of the Philippine car design.
Chariot Motors is reportedly scheduled to start building over 120 cars in May 2015. However, the manufactured vehicles will hit the local market in 2018.
Comment:
Though the news seems to bring positive vibes to online readers, we opted to firmly mention that we don't like to fool more readers on this particular innovation. This news is FAKE! There's no such thing as PARAC cars in Bacolod city.
The original article was carefully crafted and it included substantial figures to make it more convincing to the readers. It mentioned the technical design of the car and detailed description of the diesel engine including its price. Unfortunately, all of those information are fake.
