Netizens Call for Justice over Dharryll Rodriguez Mojica Controversial Death
The controversial death of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) trainee 'Dharryll Rodriguez Mojica' recently caused an online outrage. The post of Dharryll's family on Facebook detailing the incident has gone viral over the last few days.
Erminia Mojica Ersando shared her sentiments over the questionable explanation of the PCG officials regarding the alleged cause of Dharryll's death. In the post, she said that the claim of PCG officers is totally opposite to the medical findings of the prestigious hospital where the victim was rushed for medication.
As of writing, the message posted in Facebook on October 18, 2014 already earned a total of 6,364 Likes and 199 Shares.
"Kung tutuosin[sic] po Ay di naman nya kanilangan pumasok sa ganito klase dahil may maayos naman sya trabaho at pinagkukunan. Pero dahil gusto magkaron ng isang propesyon at makatulong sa bayan ay pumasok sa institusyon ng Philippine Coast Guard," Erminia said.
Story behind the contentious death of Dharyll Mojica
Erminia narrated that on September 25, 2014, they received a phone call and were told that Dharryll was sent to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH). They immediately visited the emergency room of the public medical center in Manila to check the status of Mr. Mojica. The entire family were shocked the moment they saw Dharyll in full life support system. Erminia said they were informed that Dharryll was declared "brain dead".
Upon checking the medical records of the PCG trainee, the doctors notably extracted over 2 liters of water from Dharryll's lungs which made the family think that he was drowned. Erminia also found out from the records that Dharryll had a fracture on his neck and multiple bruises on his legs. Most of all, they noticed a remarkable area of his skin were peeled off from his back.
Due to the medical results, the family of Dharryll Mojica is now challenging the PCG officials to conduct proper investigation to identify the real cause of his death. Erminia Mojica is also hoping that the netizens' call for justice over the controversial death of Dharryll will help in driving the government to quickly act on this case.
Dharryll turned 23 last September 21, 2014. He joined the PCG training pool on April 28, 2014. He supposed to graduate this October. He was from Banaba Cerca Indang, Cavite.
