Man Murdered Wife in Cotabato with Bolo Knife,Dead on the Spot
A woman was brutally murdered by her husband using a bolo knife in Cotabato City last Thursday. The victim, identified as Hasmiyah Mangcop, was repeatedly stabbed by the suspect. She was dead on the spot.
Hasmiyah reportedly planned to leave and work abroad but the suspect, Chos Mangcop, didn't agree to her decision causing the two to have a heated discussion. At the hype of their confrontation, Chos grabbed his bolo and stabbed his own wife to death. The incident occurred inside their home which is located in Maya Street, Federville Subdivision, Barangay Rosary Heights 3, Cotabato City.
After Chos Mangcop murdered his wife, the suspect also attempted to kill himself. However, he failed since his brother-in-law, Tho Angas, tried to intervene him from doing it; which prompted him to attack Angas. His brother-in-law sustained several wounds from the attack.
The suspect and Tho Angas were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, local authorities are now planning to file multiple charges including murder against Chos Mangcop. The court hearing session schedules will be available once the suspect will fully recover and will be physically fit to face the complainants in the court.
A bolo knife is a large cutting tool of Filipino used particularly in the jungles of Indonesia, the Philippines, and in the sugar fields of Cuba. The main use of this tool is for clearing vegetation and harvesting crops or narrow row crops found on terraces such as rice, mungbeans, soybeans, and peanuts. Bolo was also used extensively during the colonial period. - Wikipedia.com
