Bomb Scare Prompts San Beda College Taytay Rizal to Cancel Classes
A bomb threat forces the campus officials of San Beda College in Taytay, Rizal to suspend all classes on Friday morning, March 21, 2014.
A post of dzBB on Twitter noted the cancellation of all college activities in San Beda when authorities received a message that a bomb has been planted inside the campus. A post of PDI news mentioned an unidentified person, who called the trunk line of San Beda twice to notify them about the bomb.
Students in all levels were immediately asked to vacate the premise and bomb detectives rushed into the scene to conduct the inspection.
As of press time, the investigation is ongoing and no further reports are published online.
Meanwhile, bomb threat is a serious crime and a higher penalty is currently being deliberated at the House of Representatives. The lawmakers want to impose a penalty of up to P5 million (as opposed to the present fine of not more than P40,000) on individuals found guilty of disseminating false bomb threats.
