Powerful and destructive typhoon-Haiyan, set to hit the Philippine Territory
Meteorologist Eric Leicester of accuweather.com reportedly issued an alarming statement regarding a very powerful typhoon that will hit the Philippines later this week.
The powerful typhoon named Haiyan is on its way for Philippines on Friday. The typhoon has been predicted to bring massive destruction upon landfall in the Philippine territory on November 8, 2013. Leicester said that the most likely scenario is that Haiyan will be a "very powerful typhoon with wind gusts over 125 MPH as it approaches the central Philippines".
“The expected track of Haiyan will take it directly over the areas hardest hit by a powerful 7.1 magnitude that killed more than 150 people in the middle of October,” he added.
Rain and increasing wind will reach the central Philippines Friday afternoon and conditions will deteriorate from east to west Friday night into early Saturday as the powerful typhoon crosses the islands. The powerful typhoon will cause flooding and threat for deadly mudslides.
Citizens located in the disaster-stricken Cebu and Bohol are advised to prepare especially those who are close to the beaches. Liveleak, on the other hand, reported that "big waves" will most likely to occur during the typhoon. It also provided some additional tips in preparation for the powerful typhoon.
