Woman beats a Toddler "Kawawa Yung Bata" Viral Video | Child Abuse
Last week, a heartbreaking puppy crush video has gone viral on social media networks and early this week, DH.com received a horrifying news regarding a 3-year-old girl who died after being slammed on concrete floor. AND...
NOT AGAIN!!!
A 53-second viral video titled "Kawawa naman yong Bata" is making the rounds on Facebook and other social networking sites, which shows an unidentified woman continuously beating a child, who is taking a bath in a bucket of water. The woman in the video could be the mother of the poor, helpless and innocent kid.
At the beginning of the viral video, the angry woman initially said, "If your father knows this, you'll be dead. I will kill you." Then the woman hits the child again and again. The kid begs the woman to stop but whenever the child starts to cry, the woman would strike him/her from different angles to the extent of hitting the toddler's head using a dipper.
The video is very short but one can tell that the child may have sustained serious physical injuries.
Warning! You are about to watch an act of human maltreatment. The content of this video is not appropriate to young viewers. Parental guidance is advised. (The dialect used in the video is Visayan but the short translation above will guide you through the whole clip.) UPDATE : Links of the video clip are being taken down after a few hours, hence, we decided not to embed a video on this article.
Meanwhile, REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7610 Sec. 3 states that "Child abuse" refers to the maltreatment, whether habitual or not, of the child which includes psychological and physical abuse, neglect, cruelty, and emotional maltreatment. Any person who shall commit cruelty or exploitation or to be responsible for other conditions prejudicial to the child's development shall suffer the penalty of prision mayor in its minimum period.
On the other hand, the victim of the acts shall be entrusted to the care of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
UPDATE: After nearly 48 hours from the time we posted this article, mainstream media reported that the mother shown in the video is located in Negros Occidental.
ABS-CBN news stated that the mother who was caught on video beating her 3-year-old daughter promised not to do it again. On its detailed report, it said the woman failed to control her temper because she was not feeling well at the time, which of course a lame excuse!
"Paliliguin ko muna siya bago ko pakainin tapos ayaw niya kasi naglalaro ng sticker," she said. "Masakit pa ngipin ko noon tapos may labahan pa ako. Iyak nang iyak," the mother said.
The woman and her child are undergoing counseling through the aid of DSWD. The government agency said it is set to continuously monitor the woman and her child to prevent the incident from happening again.
In conclusion, NO legal case was filed against the abusive mother.
