Nancy Binay's Senate preparation, enrolls governance course in UP
Binay, one of the leading senatorial candidates who was declared winner on Thursday night, said she intends to enroll in University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance's (UP NCPAG) crash course for new legislators.
"I want to prepare myself and be familiar with the rules and structure ng Senado. Pero hindi lang ako ang mag-aaral. Pati staff ko i-eenroll ko kasi hindi lang naman ako ang maglilingkod," Binay said.
She also admitted she has already asked for the help of Senators Loren Legada and Jinggoy Estrada to guide her in the Senate.
Prof. Popoy de Vera of UP NCPAG said the course addresses the technical, administrative and legislative skills of the participants.
The one-week course includes topics like how to set up one's office, payroll, staffing, budget, how a law is passed, what bills/issues can the participant focus on, roles of each committee, etc.
The training is scheduled in June, before the Congress opens in July. - a report from ABS-CBN news, ANC news
Nancy, daughter of Vice President Jejomar Binay, earlier bragged her 20 years of experience as personal assistant to her parents. But unfortunately she suddenly realized that it's insufficient.
So what now young Binay? Two decades of experience seems futile, isn't it?
During your campaign period, you bragged yourself and claimed that you are already prepared to be a Senator but now you decided to enroll in UP to prepare yourself?
Did you just miss something before you filed your certificate of candidacy for senator?
