Joanne Reyes was attacked, stabbed, and almost got killed by 5 (five) girls inside the Far Eastern University (FEU) campus last Tuesday. One of the suspects was already identified but Arlene Concepcion felt frustrated regarding the efforts shown by the administration of FEU-GMA news.
“When I arrived at the emergency room, the only companions my daughter had were her friends,” says Concepcion. “[FEU] shouldn’t have left my daughter. This [incident] happened on their campus and yet they only offered to help yesterday. They asked for my consent in paying for our hospital bills.”
If the incident took place Tuesday in FEU grounds and FEU only offered assistance on Friday, then that's roughly 72 hours before the decision was finally made.
Meanwhile, authorities are currently conducting thorough investigation of the incident including the retrieval of the CCTV footage of FEU to pinpoint the remaining four (4) suspects.
Joanne Reyes on the other hand is recuperating from seven stab wounds at Chinese General Hospital after she underwent an operation on her small intestine which was pierced by the blade that went through her stomach. Arlene Concepcion's daughter suffered five wounds in the back, one in the stomach, and one in the back of her head.
“I’m really thankful that I’m still alive,” Joanne says.
“Nowadays you really should be alert because you can’t be sure which places are still secure,” says Reyes.
“It’s also very scary that those weapons were snuck in despite FEU’s security. I wasn’t the only student there, this could have happened to anyone”, she added.
