Kate Tan, Ateneo de Manila Student diagnosed with cancer Graduates Cum Laude (Hodgkin's lymphoma)
Kate Tan, a Communications student at the Ateneo de Manila University, was 19 when she was diagnosed with cancer of the lymph tissue proved she can surpass all kinds of obstacles.
In 2009, Kate Tan was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Despite battling her disease she went on to achieve her dreams. She reaped the fruits of her labor as she graduated cum laude last March 2013. Graduating with flying colors, Tan served as a big inspiration to her classmates and showed that with perseverance, anyone can really succeed.
Kate Tan was unable to attend the graduation rights because she is already weak. Hence, her family and relatives decided to make a little surprise party where she wore her graduation toga.
