15-year-old boy in Bacolod City died due to Fraternity Hazing Rites
A report citing the death of a 15-year-old boy due to a fraternity hazing rites in Bacolod prompted the city Mayor to call an immediate investigation of the incident. The victim, who reportedly went home right after an alleged hazing rites, became anxious according to his parents. The father of the boy thought that his son was only troubled due to a fever but things went worse when they noticed the boy vomitted remarkable volume of blood.
The victim identified as John Kurt Inventor was a student in Abkasa National High School in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City. The teenager pruportedly sustained several injuries including a lethal deep wound drilled on his back. According to various reports, the 15-year-old boy was stabbed using a long ‘ice pick’. The investigation of Bacolod PNP revealed countless bruises on the boy’s legs, arms, and on his back.
John Kurt Inventor died on Monday and his family failed to extract important information from him. The victim was losing strength and struggled to initiate a conversation to them. Due to his weak condition, the boy simply had to use hand signals to communicate. In one of their visits to the hospital, they noticed Kurt showing them a hand gesture relating to a fraternity group. The name of the organization, however, was not disclosed to the local journalists.
The death certificate of John Kurt indicated that the teenager died due to septic shock or infection. A detailed autopsy report will be released by the local police which will hopefully identify the cause of the death of the 15-year-old boy in Bacolod City. This would also help them to validate whether the boy was indeed a victim of a fraternity initiation rites or not.
